MEET THE TEAM

Hans

Hans Fraikin, Founding Principal and Chairman

With over 23 years in the motion picture industry, Hans was recently the founding Managing Director and Film Commissioner of the Quebec Film and Television Council. Under his 9-year stewardship the QFTC generated over $1.5 billion in inward investment with titles such as Smurfs, 300 with Gerald Butler, X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse with Hugh Jackman and Jennifer Laurence, RED with Bruce Willis, White House Down with Tatum Channing, Mirror Mirror with Julia Roberts, Source Code with Jake Gyllenhaal, and Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D and The Mummy 3 with
Brandon Frazer.

  

Prior to this, Hans was Director of European Operations for Telefilm Canada, the Federal Film funding Agency based in Paris.

 

Mr. Fraikin commenced his career with Twentieth Century Fox International in Los Angeles, distributing over 100 feature films including ID4: Independence Day with Will Smith, Speed with Keanu Reeves, Mrs. Doubtfire with Robin Williams, The Full Monty, Romeo & Juliet and Titanic with Leonardo DiCaprio, the Oscar winning film Braveheart by Mel Gibson, Fox’s first animated feature Anastasia and the 20th Anniversary digital release of the Star Wars trilogy.

Eric Brune, Head of Distribution and Worldwide Sales

A skilled film executive with over 30 years of experience, Eric has been the President of SONY PICTURES France for the past 16 years. He was responsible for bringing to market some of the most successful feature films of the past two decades, including the Spiderman franchise, three James Bond films (Skyfall, Specter, and Quantum Solace), The Da Vinci Code, Men in Black, Django Unchained, Tintin, and The Social Network which won him the Caesar (French Oscar) for Best Foreign Film.

Previous to Sony, Eric was the General Manager of a joint venture between Columbia TriStar and Gaumont, where he spearheaded the creation of its production company and managed relationships with producers, screenwriters, directors and actors.

 

Eric began is career as a booker with Pathé, moving up to the ranks to territory manager for Walt Disney Pictures, then to Sales manager for Warner Bros, and Sales Director for UFD (UGC-Twentieth Century Fox Distribution).

Yolanda Cochran, head of Production and Development

An experienced and skilled producer and production consultant, Yolanda served as EVP Physical Production at Warner Bros. affiliated Alcon Entertainment, overseeing the full scope of production and production finance for the company’s slate, project managing all aspects from green light to delivery. The final feature under Cochran’s oversight while at Alcon was a remake of Point Break which shot in 10 countries, immersed in the world of extreme sports and starring Edgar Ramirez, Luke Bracey and an international cast.  Cochran was Executive Producer on the feature Beautiful Creatures as well as co-producer on The Blind Side starring Sandra Bullock, which was nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Picture.  Her other co-producer credits include Transcendence, starring Johnny Depp, Morgan Freeman and Paul Bettany; the original and sequel release to the uplifting and factually inspired hit, Dolphin Tale with Harry Connick Jr., Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman; The Book of Eli, starring Denzel Washington; Something Borrowed, starring Kate Hudson; Joyful Noise, starring Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton; the ensemble comedy Lottery Ticket and The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2.

Prior to joining Alcon in 2002, Cochran freelanced in production accounting on feature films including Life, Blue Streak, Nutty Professor II, Coyote Ugly and Dragonfly, and also served as a production auditor in the Motion Picture Group at Walt Disney.  Her career began as an auditor with KPMG,

focused primarily on film related clients such as MGM, CBS/Fox and Motion Picture Corp of America.   A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences as well as the Board of Delegates for the Producers Guild of America and long-time oenophile, Cochran is a native of Texas with familial roots in Louisiana and a CPA with a degree in accounting from the University of Southern California.

Cameron Crawford, VP Legal Affairs

Cameron is the Managing Partner of Indigo Lawyers, Abu Dhabi’s premier boutique media and entertainment law firm.

 

Recent movie projects have included Fast & Furious 7, Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens, Netflix’s War Machine (starring Bar Pitt), Bollywood hit Dishoom, and financing for The Idol.

 

 In addition to motion picture support, Cameron advises on a significant number of venture capital investments, and digital content licensing, having acted in relation to the licenses of exclusive regional publishing rights for Vogue and PopSugar.

Andrew Taylor, VP Finance

Andrew is an Entrepreneurial Finance Director, used to operating at a strategic Board level as well as hands on. He has extensive experience with operating small businesses, ranging from start-ups to established companies, and is principally involved in financial matters. His approach is always commercial, specializing in block chain and crowd sourcing. Andrew has also financed three independent feature films.

His responsibilities for Madrigal Pictures include preparing monthly reporting packages for submission to various stakeholders, preparing budgets and forecasts, preparing financial plans for raising debt and equity capital, managing liquidity, assessing and advising Directors on the cash situations, and fulfilling company secretarial responsibilities.
